For car-braking we require:

1. A vehicle with legible identification signs (bodywork number) and license plates
2. Car owner's identity card
3. In case there is more than one owner or in case they are absent, signed agreement in paper is required
4. If the vehicle is company registered, it is required that all the company's documents are enclosed (enterprise registration entry or KRS) as well as company's representative signed authorisation for car breaking.
5. In case car's registration certificate has been detained by the police you need to present a certificate for car breaking from an appropriate department of communication or signed copy of registration certificate.
6. If the car has been purchased but not registered by a new owner (registration certificate shows yet another owner), purchase contract certified in an appropriate revenue is required

On accepting a vehicle for car breaking its owner receives;

1. Car breaking certificate,
2. Registration certificate cancellation,
3. Cancelled vehicle card if it was given
4. Cancelled registration plates.

Car's owner is obliged to apply for signing a vehicle off (in an appropriate communication office) within 30 days from the date of receiving a car breaking certificate.
